His career in foodservice began as a teenager in the mid 1990’s when his family opened a Mexican restaurant and he started to develop culinary skills.
Chef Gibran attended the Culinary Institute of Mexico (ICUM) where he earned his Bachelor Degree in 2006. Later on he fine tuned his skills through apprentice programs at some of the top restaurants in Spain and Mexico.

Chef Gibran attended the Culinary Institute of Mexico (ICUM) where he earned his Bachelor degree in 2006. Later on he fine tuned his skills through apprentice programs at some of the top restaurants in Spain and Mexico. Gibran won bronze and Gold medals in culinary competitions as a junior and spent several years in the kitchens of some of the finest restaurants and hotels in Mexico giving him a deep understanding of the regional differences along the country.
In his travels around Mexico, Gibran developed a huge passion for a deep immersion in Mexican Culinary Arts and Culture, this experience led him to start as a culinary instructor in 2011. He participated in the “IKA Culinary Olympics 2012” with Mexico's national team winning bronze medal in the category “Restaurant of Nations”. Gibran developed new recipe books and procedures for the Institute's Bachelor degree and it's Food Enthusiast programs. Gibran developed traditional and contemporary recipes and menus for many successful restaurants in Mexico.
In 2013 he started to lead the team of Culinary Instructors as an executive chef in the Culinary Institute of Mexico managing the students program, catering, stocks, and students investigation. In July of 2014, Gibran joined PepsiCo. In his role, he inspires product development in the Culinary Innovation Center in Monterrey, Mexico.
